Glazpart, the leading glazing components manufacturer is looking forward to the Glazing Summit in October and to participating in a panel debate on the hot topic of triple glazing.

The debate will take place at Glazing Summit, Edgbaston in Birmingham on 17^th October and is titled “The Triple Glazing Dilemma: Is the industry up for the challenge?”

Dean Bradley, Glazpart Sales Director will be representing the glazing components sector on the panel along with other panellists including, Gareth Jones, Managing Director of Solar Fabrications and Mark Gajda, REHAU, Head of Technical Services and Certification and Chair of GGF Systems House Group.

Ahead of the debate, Dean Bradley commented, “Triple glazing has its advantages and disadvantages, but for installers the questions are multiple. Firstly, there’s understanding the compliance with regulations should it become a compulsory measure at some point in the future. Secondly, is the companies’ capability and what they have to do to compete. There’s a lot to debate and many factors to consider, but the one thing that is certain is that triple glazing is not going away and if anything, it is likely to increase over the next decade.”

Triple glazing does have its environmental and economic benefits for homeowners but there are issues in the supply chain and in particular at the installation end.

Dean Bradley adds, “Glazpart as always keeps abreast of the incoming legislation to ensure our customers are aware of what is coming down the pipeline. As well as imparting knowledge, we have also prepared products with our range of glazing accessories for fabricators and installers who make and fit triple glazing. We are ready for the inevitable increase in triple glazing, though I’m not so sure our industry as a whole is prepared for what lies ahead. I look forward to the debate and sharing my views and knowledge on triple glazing, which is more than just an extra pane of glass in window.”

Glazpart is pleased to announce that it is now a member of GTMA – the UK-based trade association representing leading companies in precision engineering, rapid product development, toolmaking, tooling technologies, and other critical manufacturing-related products and services.

Joining GMTA, Glazpart will not only be able to share and compare knowledge of manufacturing processes with other leading manufacturers but will also receive a range of benefits. These include technology advice, marketing activities such as promotion via GMTA’s digital channels and events, knowledge access and transfer plus contact building and networking.

On joining GMTA, Dean Bradley, Glazpart Sales Director commented, “We are delighted to join GMTA as it will be another resource we can use to advance our manufacturing knowledge even further. It’s just over one year since, Glazpart launched  its unique Glazpartners initiative and in that period over 40 companies have joined as the initiative has enjoyed record PR coverage, numerous award nominations with ultimate recognition at The Installer Awards in March 2024, when Glazpartners won “Best Customer Support Programme”.

For Glazpart and the Glazpartners story, the good news continues as companies continue to join each as Glazpart prepares for a busy and landmark 2025 ahead when the company celebrates its 40^th anniversary.

In October, Glazpart will be launching a Glazpartners annual brochure featuring all the companies who have joined the initiative and with articles reflecting on the programme’s success to date and on the plans for 2025.

In addition, Glazpart plans to promote all Glazpartners at the Glazing Summit in October at Edgbaston in Birmingham, where the Glazpartners brochure will be distributed to every visitor, sponsor and exhibitor.

Already this year, Glazpart has welcomed 10 companies to the Glazpartners programme and the latest to join are A&B Glass, Fenster Karsal and media company Fenestra Build.

Glazpart is pleased to announce two new agreements with Glazing Summit that further strengthens the working partnership between the two companies.

Firstly, Glazpart will once again sponsor Glazing Summit 2024 and will participate in the panel discussions at the event in October.

The Glazing Summit takes place on Thursday 17 October when over 500 leaders from across the glass and glazing industry will come together for the industry’s biggest conference at the world-renowned Edgbaston Stadium and Conference Centre, Birmingham.

Glazpart’s latest investment is the Hurco Five Axis Swivel Head and Rotary Table.

Offering maximum flexibility, the new machine has multiple advantages, starting with the machine’s design configuration that utilizes a torque B axis swivel head and C axis style rotary table.  The generous size of the rotary table provides maximum versatility because you can use the extra table space for secondary operations or 3-axis work.  With exceptional cutting feed rates (with patented high-speed motion technology) Glazpart can continue to manufacture plastic components using the fastest cutting technology while producing the best surface finish.

Glazpartners – the innovative customer support initiative has won “Best Installer Support Programme” at this year’s Installer Awards in Manchester on 16^th March.

The Glazpartners programme was launched by Glazpart (the leading plastics components manufacturer) in May 2023 at FIT Show in Birmingham. Since launch over 50 companies have joined to be part of the sector’s newest marketing initiative.

Designed to develop closer collaboration with customers and promote Glazpartners, the programme has been embraced by companies across the glazing supply chain from systems houses to fabricators through to distributors and installers, as well as trade media and events organisations.

On winning the award, Dean Bradley, Sales Director of Glazpart commented, “We are delighted to win this award at this fantastic event. My congratulations to the Glazpart team on an incredible first year of the Glazpartners programme. Our aim is to work closer with our customers so we can continue to develop and deliver products that meet the market’s demands. And at the same time, we want to promote our customers’ brands and products via the Glazpartners programme and all our promotional channels.”

The Glazpartners concept arose from the challenges the glazing supply chain faced as the industry emerged from the pandemic and lockdowns as well as the UK leaving of the EU – all of which has seen increasing costs and a changing political and economic landscape. The impact on the sector has been considerable from incoming regulations to materials shortages through to an increasingly competitive market where homeowners have become more discerning when it comes to replacing windows and doors.

Despite the challenging times, the Glazpart team looked at ways to offer added value to its customers by identifying market and legislative changes, and subsequently offering guidance and information where possible. At the same time, Glazpart also wanted to promote its customers who are compliant with the regulations and are conducting their operations in the right way. It was decided that a customer support programme would be launched to help Glazpart’s customers across the supply chain.

Since its launch, the Glazpartners initiative has become highly visible with online promotion via the Glazpart website in the dedicated Glazpartners section, as well as via social media, in particular on LinkedIn. In the trade press, Glazpartners has featured in over 150 articles providing over one million opportunities to view Glazpartners content in the glass, glazing and construction media.

In 2023, Glazpartners was also promoted at four major industry events including the FIT Show, Glazing Summit, Interplas and MENE shows. At these events all the brands/logos of Glazpartners were displayed on the Glazpart exhibition graphics. At the FIT Show, to launch the programme Glazpart created a special display area where over 30 Glazpartners contributed specially designed windows and doors for exhibit – making it the most diverse product display at the industry’s largest exhibition.

At Glazing Summit in October 2023, the Glazpartners initiative was further promoted with each delegate being issued with a special Glazpartners’ promotional brochure which highlighted the initiative and featured content from many Glazpartners endorsing the programme.
